Bios

Tom Magness

Since first entering the U.S. Army as a cadet at the United States Military Academy, Tom has led military organizations from Platoon to Brigade. His unique background combines his service and education as an engineer with the confidence and professional development that comes from being an "Airborne Ranger!" As a commander (CEO) with the US Army Corps of Engineers, he has completed numerous multi-billion dollar construction projects ranging from locks and dams, to the border fence in Southern California and Southern Arizona, to large infrastructure projects in Afghanistan. He has taught at the Military Academy at West Point and served as a mentor/ coach / consultant at the Army's National Training Center. His final assignment in the Army was as commander (CEO) of a $5B construction program in Afghanistan, the culmination of a 26-year military career. Tom most recently served as COO for a $300M international construction company. He currently conducts leadership seminars and keynote addresses to clients across the country as founder of the Eagle Leadership Group.

Tom is a register Professional Engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional and has a Master's in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas. He is also the author of Leader Business: Battle-Tested Leadership Strategies for Any Organization.

Dan Ball

Dan served throughout his military career leading organizations and training Soldiers, including command (CEO) positions from Platoon through Brigade. As a Brigade commander, Dan led over 3,000 Soldiers of the only aviation brigade as part of the 2007 Presidential surge into Iraq. Leveraging innovative leadership, training and maintenance techniques, his unit flew the most missions per airframe in theater. Dan taught at the Army's Infantry School and served as a coach / consultant at the Army's National Training Center. He also operated as the US Ambassador's Military Deputy for Security, Reconstruction and Stabilization of Iraq and Afghanistan. Dan's final assignment was as the Chief of Staff for Army Aviation, responsible for leading the development, prioritization and implementation of a $1.1B annual operating budget, overseeing a civilian and military workforce of 14,000, serving as the Level IV arbitrator for all union personnel actions, and designing the strategy to modernize and sustain infrastructure and facilities for aviation training

Following retirement, Dan dedicated three years as the operational leader for not-for-profit organizations as well as a for-profit publishing unit aiding over 20,000 Soldiers, planning annual industry trade shows, and developing strategies for effective communications among the military, government and industry. Owner and President of DLB Solutions, LLC, Dan passionately provides solutions to improve operational efficiencies and safety while increasing productivity for leaders and businesses.

Nate Sassaman

Nate Sassaman is a 1985 West Point graduate whose leadership skills have been demonstrated from the battlefield to the boardroom. LTC (R) Sassaman led over 1,000 soldiers as a Combined Arms Infantry Battalion Commander in the heart of the Sunni Triangle from 2003-2004. Using the leadership lessons taught at West Point and the hard lessons on the Iraqi battlefield, Nate takes his amazing leadership experiences and develops today's leaders and aspiring leaders at some of the largest companies and government agencies in the United States. A West Point football player and All-American Quarterback, Army Airborne Ranger, decorated combat veteran, best-selling author, and seasoned leader, Nate has developed and coached thousands of executives, managers, front-line supervisors, teachers, coaches, and aspiring leaders in the past decade. His high-energy approach, innovative group facilitator methods, and focused determination on developing his student-leaders makes for the best leadership training available. Nate continues his keynote addresses across all parts of America, and leadership training for Home Depot, Olympus America, and Henkel North America, as well as numerous government agencies in Southern California.
